About Eric

Artist Biography

Eric Liebl was born in Smithtown, New York and spent the first 18 years of his life there.  During this time he was exposed and influenced by all of the famous works of art found in the many museums around New York such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MOMA.  Upon graduating high school his family was separating and he had the choice to stay or have a change of scenery.

At that time he moved south to Germantown Maryland where he attended Montgomery College majoring in business.  Always having a love of art and wanting to get into the art business world, he took some art electives during his time in school.  This is where he was influenced for the first time by his professor Daniel Venne.  Eric took an extra class to work more with this professor, who gave him a new vision to his art making ability.

After graduating from Montgomery College, Eric took some time off before making the biggest move of his life.  He packed up his wife and cat and continued down the east coast to the Sunshine state.  Here he ended up in the West Palm Beach area where he enrolled at Florida Atlantic University.  This is where his life was about to change.  Now, studying as an Art Education major, Eric was juggling both studio classes and education courses, along with the required general studies classes.  After all of his general classes were completed, he was able to concentrate on his higher level art and education courses.  Though different in style, he always somehow tried to work the ideas from art into education and education into art classes.  Sometimes this was easier said then done however, Eric did not quit.

Finally, in is last year, he thought he had hit a wall where art wanted to just be art and education wanted to just be education.  With Eric being as stubborn as usual, he continually worked his ideas into his assignments and is now having people see his passion for both the arts and education.  Upon graduation, Eric hopes to continue with this passion for the arts and educating children in new and innovative ways, along with creating works of art. There is a quote which keeps Eric striving harder to achieve more now then ever before.  “I sometimes realize I could only be as good as you'll let me.” E. Vedder.  With this in the back of his head he always tries to outdo what ever he thought you were going to expect, therefore being better then even he imagined.
